Cindy’s big dream for SMSC is to fill the buses and the classrooms to maximum capacity! She believes that prayer is the main component to reaching more students. We can “ask God’s guidance for our ministry,” and trust His plan. “If we all work together” and tell “everyone we can about the opportunity SMSC is providing for our children…we will be able to reach many.”
Cindy’s love for working with children and seeing them learn and grow in the Lord began when her grown sons were small children. She wanted to be a part of the activities they were in so she volunteered in the nursery, children's church and vacation Bible school. When her boys were older, she started a business and ministered to her customers by praying with them.
She also learned that her customers shared her concern that public schools no longer allow the Bible to be taught. They agreed that we need to “do whatever we (can) to help educate our children the right way” and help them establish a firm foundation. Cindy believes that if we
“Train up a child in the way he should go,” that “when he is old he will not depart from it.” (Proverbs 22:6)
She first learned about SMSC when she was invited to our annual banquet. She saw the impact the ministry was making in our schools. “I knew I wanted to support it and become a part of it and do whatever I could do to help.” Cindy recognizes the importance of telling others about the Released Time program that SMSC offers. “I meet new people every day and can tell them about SMSC.”
Cindy, has been married to her husband Scott for over 46 years. They have two sons and one daughter-in-law. She enjoys camping in the mountains with friends, fishing, sitting by the creek and cooking. One of her greatest treasures is her friendships that have been built over the years.
